Wishing you a happy 2015 + Thoughts about the future.

A crazy phenomenon this morning in little ole Temecula. It SNOWED! My husband and I were acting like kids at 3am this morning when we discovered it. It might not be a huge thing to some–but it was simply amazing when the sun came up– I’ve never seen this city covered in snow like it was today! plus, when does this ever happen? NEVER! What a way to start the new year.

with that said– I wanted to wish you all a happy new year. 2015 is going to be a great year, I can feel it.

As the new year is approaching, I can’t help but to think about the future of couponing and deals in So Cal. There are so many changes happening with our grocery stores this year– Albertsons buying Safeway and the appearance of TWO new faces into So Cal– Aldi and Haagen Grocers . I’m excited to see what both of these stores bring to Southern California. I bet the changes will be positive for us couponers.

Southern Cali Saver in 2015: I am ALWAYS evolving and its come to my attention that you all need and want MORE than just coupons and deals.. so, I have some amazing ideas for you.. some of which have already been implemented for 2015. You see, 2015 isn’t going to be JUST about deals and coupons– its going to be more effective in saving you money.  Beginning this week, I will be introducing the “7 meals for less than $40 series”.– this will be 7 meals that you can make each week at Ralphs (possibly more stores to come in the future) for less than $40 a week (for a family of 4).

How would you like to say that you spent only $40 on groceries each week to feed your family??! um. awesome.

Money Saving Articles— I already have 52 articles written about various topics to help you save money in different ways. I’m talking financially.. not just with coupons. Here is a small list of articles I’ve already started:

  • Let your money earn more money
  • Choose Financial freedom instead of vacations
  • Get Serious with student loans
  • Learning to live beneath your means

This is just a small example of the things that I want to talk about here on the blog! I hope you will enjoy them.

Amazon shopping: Did I mention how much I LOVE Amazon?! Sometimes its just the best thing to sit at home and order what I need from my office chair. I’ve really got the hang of Prime Pantry– I hope to introduce more posts like the Prime Pantry box for $50 shipped — (which included ALL bulk size items that will last me more than a month!)

Don’t worry, the deals and match ups will not change– but now there will be a nice mix of variety available.

There are SO many ways I could spend my time when it comes to the blog.. and I really want to give you what YOU need. So, if you have any ideas please let me know. I’m here for you always.

Happy New Year!

Wishing you a Happy New Year! Congrats on the new house as well. We got snow on our mountains (Cleveland National Forest) in Corona. I saw they shut down the 15 and Orgea highway. I love the Ralphs $40 weekly menu idea. Anyway we could possibly get an updated food price list? Beef is so darn expensive now! I remember when we could get it for 1.99/lb at Von’s years back. Thank you for running this awesome website! I’ve referred so many people — thank you again!

Hi josie, I see you changed the look of the blog. You have removed the “Vons” and “Rite Aid” links from the top of the page, where you have all the other stores. Please put them back! Those two stores are still major stores around here in SoCal. Thanks. – JB

    • Josie says:

JB, If you scroll down you will see that there are links to all of the stores in the sidebar. Just click on the image and it will take you directly to the store deals

      • JB says:

Hi Josie, thanks for the reply. I see that “Vons” is back on the top of the page with the other stores – thank you! Very helpful.
Also, I do see the sidebar. It’s visible when you look at the blog on a laptop – however, when I view the SCS website from my phone, the sidebar is not there. So, from my phone, it’s hard to find a way to view all the posts for “Rite Aid” or “WalMart,” or any major store not linked on the top of the page.
Especially if I am out and decide to make a quick trip somewhere, and I want to look at that store’s posts. Or if I go to a store only once a week, then I like to pull up all your posts from that store before I make my weekly trip, so I don’t miss any possible deals. That’s why it’s useful to be able to get any store’s list of posts on my phone.
Could you consider an additional “Stores” link up top, that has a drop-down link for each store, and ALL posts for that store, and not just the Weekly Match-Ups? That’s basically how you used to have it, with each store’s link.
Finally, thanks for including the “Store Match-Ups” link up top. It’s very useful to be able to get a quick reference to the week’s match-ups for a specific store.
        Thank you– JB
