Another savings update for you! If you haven’t been following my 3 month savings challenge– Here is a small recap: I’ve challenged ourselves and YOU — to build your savings account for the next 3 months. This would mean doing anything to find extra money and add it to your savings account (or start one if you don’t have one) we went as far as getting rid of our iphones and selling them! 🙂 That saves us over $200 a month.
I sold quite a bit of things in our home and made a total of $1400 in less than TWO months! We also joined Digit and have used their services to set aside cash from our checking account to build a separate savings account that has collected well over $1000 in about 11 weeks!
We are almost to week 12 and we are back to ZERO savings 🙁 Sad day.. but exciting at the same time as we bought our tickets to Ireland over the weekend! We were able to pay just $3700 round trip for 1 adult and 3 kids. We are getting one ticket paid for thanks to frequent travel miles– so 5 people for 10 days in Ireland for less than $4000!
We are beyond excited to go to Ireland as we will be staying on a cute little farm in the country.
Our trip is not until the end of July but we plan to continue to use Digit to help save money for our travels and I plan to keep you updated on our savings!
Have you joined Digit? If so, how much in savings have you accumulated?

I thought I had failed the savings challenge. But I was able to pay for expenses that otherwise I would not have been able too. I will have to start again. This Wednesday I will deposit min of $50, wish it could be more.

There is no such thing as failing! Failing = not saving anything even though you are able to. Even if it is $5.00 here or there… its savings! 🙂

I have to say your challenge about 1 years ago????? Inspired me to pay down debt. I got my credit card down from 18k to just under 6k as of TODAY! Thanks for your inspiration and I plan on having this credit card paid off in 8 – 12 months.
