Savings Challenge Update #2 — Up $262

Updated

Two weeks ago, I challenged my family and yours to a savings challenge. Last week, we added $210 cash to our savings account by selling things.

If you are just joining us– we are finding ways to add CASH to our savings accounts. This is a three month challenge that goes beyond couponing.

This week, we added $100 to our savings account and we have $162 in our Digit savings account. (check it out! This is a great way to save cash without thinking about it)   I sold even more items this week. I wasn’t as profitable as last week– but I’ll take $100!

Week #2 results: Total weekly savings $1038

My next project is to get rid of these two beauties. I’m still in the process of trying to convince my husband to get rid of our iphones. We pay over $200 a month for our phones–and while we loved our iphones– I’m just over them. Saving $200 a month could go a long way– plus, I could sell our phones and get some cash money for them. ๐Ÿ˜‰

We’ve been researching different plans and I’m on my way to convincing him that he can live without. ๐Ÿ™‚ I will have to update you on my progress ๐Ÿ˜‰

I use pageplus for both of our iphones(a 4s and a 5) for $29ish each, i get 1200min, 3000txt, and 500mb of data, which as long you dont watch youtube or stream pandora, 500mb is ALOT.

We switched to Straight Talk two years ago and love it. We bought used AT&T iPhones off craigslist and use those with our Straight Talk plans. Our total monthly for both phones is $90 verses over $200 a month (what we used to pay). Not too shabby I’d say ๐Ÿ™‚

We have two iphones , unlimited data and texts plenty of minutes and our bill is only 120 a month. Even if you hubby doesn’t get rid of the iphone you could probably find a cheaper plan.

I too have been using Straight Talk for the last few years. I have had phones that run on both Verizon and AT&T networks and while I prefer Verizon, both work great. It is easy to switch, keep your phone number and most of all save money!!!

I have the boost mobile android plane with shrinkage. Every 6 months that you pay your bill on time it cuts $5 off until you hit $35 I think…. They have unlimited minutes and it was unlimited 4g data, but I think they just limited it. They said that I have never exceeded the data cap though, so I haven’t noticed any change or slowing. And after you hit your 4G cap, you’re still unlimited data, only a bit slower, 3G I think. Love my android HTC One phone too. Phones are a bit pricier, but I pay $40 a month now, flat, which is a steal. Annnd I’m on the Verizon network….

Good luck cutting those phones off. I just cut my fancy cox cable and I am SOOOO happy. Saving $150 a month!
