When cooking for kids, it is recommended to serve them what looks and tastes familiar to them. This means that you not only consider the taste but also how the dish will look like. Children tend to eat food that they find appealing. Slow-cooked meals are an excellent choice for kids. Any meal where we consume the liquid the vegetables and meat were cooked in increases the level of nutrients we take in. When we boil or steam food, much of the nutrient value is left in the water. Meals cooked in slow cookers provide the added benefit of consuming the nutrient-rich liquid. These meals are also quite affordable since they require few ingredients and use less energy.
