The Best Natural DIY All Purpose Cleaner

The BEST Natural All Purpose Cleaner

When I clean, whether it is just a quick wipe up or a deep spring cleaning I like to save as many steps as possible. For this reason I love all purpose cleaners that are good for multiple surfaces and can be used throughout the house. For years I have avoided using chemical laden store bought bottles because I would rather take my chances missing a germ or two than to expose my family to harsh and harmful chemical bombs in a spray bottle. When I discovered the world of essential oils I found out I could have the best of both worlds- effective sanitizers that are safe for my family. The first thing I did was experiment with a lot of DIY All Purpose Cleaners and this is the combo I came up with that has become my favorite go to cleaner for kitchen, bathroom, and everywhere in between.

Thieves and Lemon essential oils are great for cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting that is why I chose the combination, I also love the scent!

You Will Need:

  • 5 drops of Thieves essential oil
  • 3 drops Orange essential oil
  • 1 part water
  • 1 part vinegar
  • glass jar of vinegar

Directions:
You can use any glass bottle you have on hand, If you don’t already have one you can either order one of these or purchase a glass jar of vinegar and pour half the vinegar into another container.

  1. Fill your glass container with equal parts water and vinegar.
  2. Add Thieves and Orange essential oils, shake well.
  3. Shake well before each use.
  4. Label and store in a dark place.

Do not store your all purpose cleaner in a plastic bottle, all citrus oils should be stored in glass to prevent them eating away at the plastic. Preferably dark to keep out ultraviolet light and prevent oxidation, I keep mine in a dark cupboard so I don’t always make them in the dark bottles. If you keep yours out on the counter I would definitely go for the amber bottles!
