7 Ways To Save Money at Starbucks

1. Join Starbucks Rewards.

This is one of the first things you should do if you love Starbucks. With your membership, you earn stars on your purchases and also on the gift cards you upload to your account. Your stars then add up to free drinks, discounts, and special offers. Sign up online and start earning stars today. While you are at it, be sure to manage your account. Check your Starbucks emails, check your rewards balance, and be sure to keep your eyes out for offers that will earn you additional stars.

2. Look for Groupons.

Every now and then, Groupon offers a $10 Starbucks gift card for $5. Even better is you can upload this $10 card to your rewards account and earn stars on it. This is the perfect way to make the most of your Starbucks budget, as you are essentially getting $5 free.

3. Don’t forget your mug.

Don’t forget to bring your reusable mug and enjoy a .10 discount. If you visit Starbucks twice a week for a month, that is an easy .80 cents a month. Sure it doesn’t seem like much, but it adds up, especially if you are a daily visitor!

4. Skip the bottled water.

It is there. It is easy to grab. It looks fresh and cool. But think again! Skip the bottled water and ask for iced tap water instead. Your barista will be happy to give you one at no charge. They will love you even more if you bring your own cup for it!

5. Enjoy cheap refills.

If you are sitting and enjoying some quiet time or work time, enjoy your .50 cent refills. Most Starbucks offers a .50 refill on teas, basic coffee, and a variety of other drinks as long as you are “dining in” and staying in their space.

6. Order the “short.”

Many people don’t realize you can order a “short” sized cup which is even smaller than the tall which is one of the ways to save money. This is a great way to get your Starbucks to fix while saving a little bit of cash. While you are at it, ask about the “secret menu” items. The barista may have other drinks, not on the menu that can save you some money too!

7. Celebrate your birthday for free!

Be sure you check your email because during your birthday month your rewards members will earn you a free drink. You will have 30 days to claim your drink (if you even need that long!) so be sure you keep your eyes peeled and take advantage of this offer which helps you to save money
